3rd Grade Technology Lesson Plans and Activities

In the tech lab, my 3rd grade students learn perseverance and a LOT of tech skills. In this year, I have them learn word processing, presentation software, spreadsheet basics, we do a keyboarding bootcamp, and of course internet safety. They actually don't spend as much time online as the other grade levels because of all of the time we put in learning software programs. The benefit is that they will be totally ready to create things by the end of 3rd grade and going into 4th. 

So, I created these 3rd Grade Technology Lessons and Activities for the entire school year that will make a great supplement to your technology curriculum. These lesson plans and activities will save you so much time coming up with what to do during your computer lab time. They are ideal for a technology teacher or a second grade teacher with mandatory lab time. All of the work is done for you!

What you need in order to use these lesson plans:

- Laptops are ideal (PC or Chromebooks) because a lot of the lessons require a flash browser. I suppose that Macs are also totally fine if you can download a flash browser. 

- A class website (doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a place to store the links) or learning management system like Edmodo, Google Classroom, etc. The website links need to go on a password protected page. Another option is to make a desktop shortcut that links to the site. Another option is having students access it once and then save to their favorites. What I am getting at here is that there are lots of options that all protect the digital copyright.

Each lesson or project includes:

-a rationale page

-an editable lesson planning page

-a web page with linked prompts, directions, and activities

-a video for the teacher for how to use all of these resources together titled "start here" in your download folder

-Unit cover pages for a binder if you want to print out these plans
